Ty the Knot has wrapped up, so next month (May), my $20 and up patrons will start getting installments of a new book, featuring a young gay basketball player fresh out of college and now out in the pros. He’s full of swagger and has to learn to be a team player.
- Would be interesting to explore the pros and cons of a hopping gait in that particular sport.
- With the character having such powerful legs and the natural ability to jump very high, the story could lean in to the whole 'unfair advantage' arguments often put forward against trans athletes.
Also, (ahem), I hear that 'high butts' are currently a thing in basketball :)
Please choose to write a character of an underrepresented species group. I feel like a lot of main characters tend to be canines or felines.
I vote snow leopard! Sneps have major jumping abilities... would be a good fit!
The fact that my fursona is a snep has nothing to do with my recommendation of course ;)
I voted Kangaroo.
- Seldom seen in furry fiction.

Definitely a hare. Would be really interesting to see a prey species as protagonist in a competitive context
I've got a serious thing for rabbits. Rabbits are always good as characters, and hares have that long, lanky look that says "basketball" to me.
HYENA!!!!!
I would love to finally see a jaguarundi character. I'm a jaguarundi therianthrope, so I may be biased.
I voted for the hare, but despite who wins I'm really excited for the novel! 🏀 Any of the choices would make for great characters 😊
Maned Wolf makes the most sense. Tall.
This is such a neat idea. Pulling for the hare! 🐇
You should obtain consent before hair pulling. oh wait ... right.
Boomers have major league swagger.
