This week will conclude my story “Squeak Thief” on my Patreon. So next week I’ll be starting something new! It is a story of Robin Hood a little later in life, but still as roguish as ever. While it is not based on the Disney film, Robin is of course a fox because what else would he be? He has a son, who is also a fox, and they will have many separate gay adventures (this isn’t an incest story). Marian may also have a few gay adventures of her own; we’ll see how we feel as the story goes on.
ANYWAY, if you feel like following along, it’ll be serialized on my Patreon at the $5/month level. Additionally, if you have more to spare, the Ty Game sequel just started a new part today, so if you sign up at the $20/month level or higher in the coming week, send me a note and I’ll make sure you get this month’s part so you can follow it going forward.
Here’s the beginning of the Robin and Son story. The full first installment will appear on the Patreon next week for free, and after that will be only for $5/month and up patrons.
The liveried weasel pushed open the great doors and stood stiffly at attention. “The Earl of Huntingdon,” he announced in a surprisingly loud voice.
Across a large table in the circular room, a wolf in a fancy blue brocaded doublet looked up from his consultation with an older wolf and his lips stretched back into a smile at the sight of the tall fox striding into the hall. “Ah,” he called, “well met, my dear Huntingdon.”
The fox answered his smile. “It’s my pleasure to answer your summons, Chester, as well as my duty when it’s on behalf of our king.” Under his breath, he added, “At least, this king.”
The wolf turned to his advisor and the two attendants standing on the other side of his chair, a fox and a polecat. “Leave us,” he said curtly. “The Earl and I have private business to discuss.”
“Yes, Lord Courtesy,” the advisor said. He signaled to the two attendants and they followed him around the wide wooden table. None of the three of them met the fox’s eyes as they passed him.
The Earl cupped his ears back to follow their progress, and when the great doors had closed behind him, he walked around the other side of the table until he stood two chairs from the wolf. He did not sit down, but his paw went to the front of his trousers. “I hadn’t realized you’d summoned me for another ‘archery lesson.’”
The wolf laughed. “Good Robin, it has been far too long. I confess that such a pleasurable passage has been on my mind through the accession and the coronation, but it is not the reason for my summons today.”
“I’m a little disappointed,” Robin said, dropping his paw to his side, “but I’ll recover. Why, then, Ranulf, am I here?”
“Please,” the wolf said. “Have a seat.”
Robin pulled out one of the chairs and sat, leaning an elbow on the table. He glanced at the documents in front of the wolf but did not let his gaze linger, out of courtesy. “Did you receive my message congratulating you on your new position as special advisor to the Regent?”
The wolf perked his ears. “I did, thank you, and the drawing that accompanied it.”
Robin’s smile grew. “I thought you would like that.”
“It was flattering to know you missed me too.” The wolf’s tail wagged twice.
EXCERPT: Robin and Son
Amazon has a new Serial system available as well. It seems people can pay for the parts with some kind of tokens bought through amazon. I thought about puttung a novel on there.
