April 2026 Dispatch
I’ll start talking about March by talking about the end of it—specifically Texas Furry Fiesta, where we launched Azure City and had a fantastic time with everyone there! I gave my novel writing panels and we gave away some cool stuff at the Azure City launch and Rukis gave me another idea for a book, dang it. But overall I appreciate everyone who made it to the table and chatted with me. I wore out a gold pen signing, even though I signed Azure City in blue!
If you’re new to the Dangerous Spirits series, Sofawolf is offering 20% off if you buy all four! Limited time only but at least until April 15.
A lot of the rest of the month was doing next-to-last revision on the third Wolftown book, Unlawful Possession, and then starting to plot out the fourth book. I’ll probably start writing it in April and hope to have a draft done reasonably soon, although we have a wedding to go to in April and then Furlandia at the end of May (very excited about that, more about it next month).
Meanwhile, we’re working on audiobook production—Love Match 3 is done and awaiting a proofing pass—and on getting the next Ellie Stone book (Weasel Under the Sun) ready for Furlandia!
Thanks to everyone who bought the Night and Bright t-shirts. They shipped at the end of the month, so you should have them soon if you haven’t already gotten yours. We will have another merch drop in a couple months!

Weasel Under The Sun: 2026 (Spring). The third Ellie Stone mystery (second to be published on its own)! Ellie works for a month in another family’s kitchen while hers is on vacation, but murder will follow her anywhere…
Unlawful Possesssion (Wolftown book 3): 2026 (Summer): Chasing a ghost-napper, Jae uncovers a larger, more sinister plot.

Love Match 2 is out! Find it on Audible or iTunes.
Science Friction is out! Audible and iTunes.
Squeak Thief is out! Audible and iTunes.
And Dude, Where’s My Pack? is also nearly done.
Work on the Price of Thorns audiobook is largely done with just pickups and post left; we hope to have this out this year (there have been delays because of scheduling with the people proofing it).
Out now:
Azure City: A book full of blank pages might be the key to another world, but the more Athos reads, the more he disappears from this one.
Writer Ways: A Helpful Guide to Novel Writing: I wrote down about 100,000 words worth of what I’ve learned about writing novels, and I show my process while writing The Price of Thorns to give you an example to follow along with. Argyll (the publisher, buy direct!) has the print and e-book.
Dead Right: The sequel to Unfinished Business! Jae gets tangled in the life of a ghost activist who endangers his relationships and his future. Out now in print and e-book form at Argyll Productions and wherever you get books!
Squeak Thief: A rich mouse hires a fox thief to steal from his own family, but the job quickly spirals out of control. You can get it as a print book on FurPlanet or Amazon, or as an e-book on BadDogBooks or any other major retailer.
The Price of Thorns: buy at Argyll and review at Amazon or GoodReads. In a fantasy world where stories are woven into the fabric of magic and life, Nivvy the thief is hired by a mysterious woman, and this job will change his life in ways he could never have anticipated.
In progress:
Monster Huggers (Patreon) - serializing
Robin Hood fan fic (two books) — draft complete, awaiting revision
Ty the Knot — draft complete, awaiting revision
Fast Break (a gay basketball player story on Patreon) — first draft ongoing

Streaming:
Good Boy (Shudder?): I actually don’t know where this is streaming because I watched it on a plane. It was on Shudder as of last fall, apparently. Anyway, I was intrigued by the concept: a haunted house horror movie from the point of view of the dog who moves in with his owner. The dog really is the central character and he is a dog; there’s no voiceover, just his expressions and emoting, and he is great. Or he was trained very well, but still, he’s expressive. On top of that, the movie is really good. It’s a compelling story, scary, with an ending that stuck with me for days. Go find it and watch it.
Hoppers (theaters): I loved Hoppers, with its environmental message and imaginative technology (I don’t even care about talking to animals, though that would be great, just give me an animal body I can “hop” into!). I am particularly impressed that the trailers only gave away like the first third of the movie, after which…well, it’s a ton of fun, just go watch it. Pixar, make more original content like this and Turning Red.
Fallout season 2 (Amazon Prime): I really liked the first season of Fallout. The mysteries it teased us with throughout were really interesting to ponder, and the reveals were great. Season 2…takes a little while to get going. We’re just back where we were at the dramatic finale of last season, but things are still going. Okay. There’s a few interesting twists (I love me some Justin Theroux) but this season felt a little flatter to me than the first one. Toward the end, it picks up, but still felt a little disappointing.
